1. Strategic Vision

Beyond the traditional trap

The Plume Masters Marine™ technology platform is not limited to lobster and crab trap fisheries. Our “organic pykrete” matrix (75% local biomass / 25% engineered matrix and binders) is a vehicle for delivering programmable scent plumes.

By adjusting compression density, hydration levels, and the amino acid profile of the matrix, we open three new global growth pillars:

Pillar 1

Aquaculture

Fish hatcheries and farms.

Pillar 2

Commercial Groundfish

Longlines and handlines.

Pillar 3

Recreational & Sportfishing

General public and charters.

2. Aquaculture and Fish Farms

Feed enhancement

In aquaculture, feed costs represent between 50% and 70% of total operating expenses. Our matrix technology offers an alternative to standard pellets that dissolve too quickly or pollute the bottom of sea cages.

Standard Pellet

  1. Rapid dissolution
  2. Nutrient loss
  3. Benthic pollution

Plume Matrix

  1. Slow diffusion
  2. Full consumption
  3. Zero residual waste

Target Applications

  • Bottom feeding for aquaculture (sturgeon, halibut, turbot): Groundfish need time to feed. Our slow-diffusion blocks remain intact at the bottom of the cage for several hours, ensuring complete ingestion without waste.
  • Enrichment and treatment blocks: Specific nutrients, vitamins, or veterinary treatments can be integrated directly into the core of the “pykrete” matrix. The controlled release prevents the treatment from dissolving into the water column before the fish can consume the block.
  • Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) reduction: Less food lost in the water column means increased profitability for marine farm operators.

3. Commercial Groundfish Fishing

While groundfish are not caught using traps, longline and handline fishing represent a massive, multi-billion-dollar market that depends entirely on durable, highly attractive bait.

Longline Bait Replacement

The Current Problem

Pieces of mackerel or squid on longline hooks are often stolen by small, non-target fish or torn away by strong currents before larger target groundfish arrive.

The Plume Masters Solution

Mini-blocks or matrix capsules compressed directly onto the hook shank or inserted into line-feeding delivery devices.

Target Species

  • Halibut and cod: Utilization of a high-density matrix (12 to 24-hour lifespan) infused with blood and whitefish offal.
  • Redfish and haddock: Rapid-diffusion scent sediment blocks designed to create a massive attraction zone around the bottom line.

4. Recreational and Sportfishing Market

The consumer market is immense and significantly less price-sensitive than the commercial sector. Sport fishermen prioritize efficiency, cleanliness, and convenience.

The Recreational Crab Market

Pleasure Craft Traps

Product format: The “Mini-Storm Block” (0.5 lb).

The advantage: Recreational crabbers targeting blue crab on the US East Coast or Dungeness crab on the West Coast dislike handling rotten fish or raw chicken in their vehicles or pleasure boats. A clean, fresh, or frozen block ready to drop into a recreational trap eliminates odors and lasts all weekend.

Striped Bass & Apex Predators

Clean Chumming

Instead of grinding fresh fish on board and making a mess of the boat, fishing guides and recreational boaters can hang a Plume Masters matrix block in a mesh bag off the stern. The block creates a constant, uniform chum line of blood and oils for 4 to 6 hours.

Refillable artificial baits: Development of hollow lures where the angler inserts an interchangeable Plume Masters matrix pellet. The lure diffuses a real blood scent while being cast or trolled, combining visual and olfactory attraction.

Targeted Sportfishing Opportunities

Offshore Fishing

Tuna, shark, swordfish — giant chum blocks featuring a matrix built from beef blood and tuna offal to hold predatory fish near charter vessels.

Structure Fishing

Tautog, black sea bass, grouper — heavy bait pellets that sink directly onto shipwrecks or reefs to draw target fish out of hiding spots.

5. Technical Adaptation Matrix

By market segment

For each new market, the core matrix recipe remains standardized (25% global technology), while the local inputs (75%) and hydraulic press parameters are modified.

6. Impact on the Global Franchise Model

This expansion fundamentally transforms the value of the Plume Masters Marine™ license for local partners.

Elimination of Seasonality

Instead of manufacturing only during the 2 to 3-month local lobster season, the licensee can operate their 500 sq ft production node year-round by shifting production to recreational blocks in the summer and aquaculture or groundfish blocks in the winter.

Sales Channel Diversification

Licensees no longer sell exclusively to the 38 commercial processors; they expand their reach to sportfishing tackle distributors, marinas, tourism charter fleets, and local aquaculture farm managers.
